Picnic and Praise 2016

On a gloriously sunny day on 28th June, the Kent Catholic Schools' Partnership (KCSP) with Southwark Catholic Youth Service (SCYS) brought together over 975 children and young people from 23 schools across Kent, Medway and Bromley for the largest ever celebration of Catholic education in the Kent area of our Diocese.  Congregating amid the serene grounds of the nearly 800 year old Aylesford Priory, primary and secondary pupils sang, danced, laughed and prayed culminating in mass celebrated by recently ordained Bishop Paul Mason.  Warmly welcomed by the Friars of the Priory, the children were joined by dignitaries from Kent County Council, the Diocesan Education Commission and the Catenian Association, together with representative Directors of KCSP, before enjoying the grounds of the Priory to intermingle with pupils from across schools, take time to talk and play together.  The following selection of photos captures the wonderful occasion enjoyed by all.  Next year's gathering is set for 27th June 2017.
