    The sky is the limit for Isabelle at St Joseph's Broadstairs

        Inspired by her Term 3 lessons on Space and by the class collaboration with the Monkton Stargazers, Isabelle from Year 5 at St Joseph’s, Broadstairs has entered the prestigious international Cassini Scientist for a Day essay competition run by the European Space Agency in conjunction with NASA. Participants in the competition were asked to choose one of three locations to send the Cassini spacecraft and to back their argument up with why that location would yield the best scientific results. Isabelle chose Saturn’s deeply enigmatic and mysterious hexagon which is currently baffling scientists as it changes colour and formation.     World Book Day

    World Book day fun 2017 (13) St Marys Deal

    The children and staff at St. Mary’s came to school on World Book Day dressed as their favourite book character to celebrate World Book Day. There were some amazing characters and very imaginative costumes.  The children took part in some fun workshops during the day including book making, animation, drama, making  bookmarks and poetry. Headteacher Mrs. Riddell said ‘It was a really happy day and we have all had great fun dressing up and sharing our learning – we are already looking forward to next year!

    Class 5 Trip to Revolution and Turner Contemporary Galler

    Class 5 visited Revolution Skate and Climbing Wall Park in Broadstairs after having been offered a free taster by the organisation.  They had a brilliant time, some of the children overcame their fear of heights and climbed to the top of the climbing wall and all had great fun giving it a try.  The class then went on to visit the Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate to complement the work they have been doing in class this term.  They saw the exhibition ‘Entangled’ which is an exhibition using textiles and well worth a visit.

    Letter of congratulations from the Minister of State for School Standards

    Congratulations to St Simon Stock!   St Simon Stock received a letter from Nick Gibb, the Minister of State for School Standards congratulating the staff and pupils for the high levels of progress that they are making.
