St Joseph’s Cook Up a Storm in the Kitchen

Swapping the classroom for the kitchen, 12 pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary Broadstairs spent the morning recently as guests of the Toby Carvery Westwood Cross Thanet.

The 12 pupils participated in a series of workshops run as part of the Toby Carvery’s educational programme to promote healthy eating and positive attitudes to food. Taste tests, learning how to prepare fruit and vegetables and a general food quiz were all on the menu for the budding Jamie Olivers followed by the famous Toby Carvery roast lunch featuring many of the vegetables the children had learned about during the workshops.

Connecting children to food planning, preparation and general nutrition is a key platform from which to promote healthy lifestyle choices and with the children awarding Toby their own St Joseph’s Michelin star, we are confident that the enthusiasm and willingness to try shown by them will reap healthy dividends and positive choices in the future.
