St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Broadstairs will take your child on a thorough educational journey throughout their seven years with us. We will challenge, guide and inspire your child to develop his/her emotional intelligence by promoting participation in a wide range of activities, both in and out of school to encourage team work, friendship, effort, commitment, respect and kindness . The confidence gained from celebrating occasions of success but also the compassion and maturing gained from occasions where success is not the touchstone, are key skills which we nurture so that when your child leaves us at age 11, they will be well rounded, confident and equipped with the perfect platform of interests, friendships and experiences to take their learning further.
With an eye to your child’s self-directing interests and enthusiasms, we will ensure that they are encouraged to embrace a wide range of sporting, musical, artistic, community and team building activities throughout their time with us. Our annual Science, Arts and Sports Weeks offer your child a package of activities designed with strength in emotional depth in mind : recent highlights have included a Japanese Tanabata day, a visit by NASA moon samples and a unique opportunity to join with 6 other British schools to measure the circumference of the Earth at the equinox. With choice being a keynote for all we do, we provide a broad variety of sports both through the games syllabus and through our extensive list of clubs and activities.
Our commitment to the arts is a pervasive theme with guitar, choir, dance, art and public speaking clubs available.
Our nature and Edwardian vegetable gardens offer significant opportunities for a sense of engagement and inclusivity with the new early years’ mud kitchen an additional, much loved platform for learning.
Recognised by OFSTED as a ‘Good school’, our pupils have performed outstandingly in the recent end of academic year Government testing programme. Our pupils continue to perform above national standards in Early Years, KS1 and KS2.
We have a strong, encouraging partnership of staff, parents and Governors who passionately believe in the importance of a happy community where the spirit of learning is harnessed to an enthusiasm for challenge and a relish for new experiences.
St Joseph’s will encourage your child to develop in a community where there are no stereotypes and where every challenge is met with the St Joseph’s spirit.
