September 2019

We are an excellent academy with a secure track record of dynamic and enthusiastic teaching and learning. You will be joining the most successful department in the second highest performing non-selective school in Kent, as has been published recently by the Department of Education.   We would be very keen to appoint a Chemistry or Physics specialist. Biology would also be a good fit for our department at this time as we grow our Biology offer at Key Stage 5. There are many opportunities to teach up to Key Stage 5, in both A levels and BTEC subjects.

We have an innovative department who effectively use creative strategies to reduce workload and to inspire excellent progress for students in Years 7-13. We are affiliated with a number of reputable professional partnerships; and offer a variety of high quality Continuing Professional Development opportunities.

Our students are a credit to the values of our academy, and all visitors to our academy comment positively on the excellent standards of behavior, courtesy and good nature of the students they encounter whilst spending time here at St Simon Stock.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be able to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential, and instil a love of learning science, both through practical and theory work.
  • Be part of a team and will contribute to the ongoing development of this successful Science department.
  • Be comfortable promoting Catholic values and ethos; but does not necessarily have to be Catholic.

We welcome applications from both experienced and newer members of the teaching profession.  An application form and job description can be found on our website here.

Closing date for applications: Tuesday 19th March 2019, interviews will take place shortly after.

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children
