Vacancy: Academy Principal (Full-time role)

Grade: L11 ( £54,091 ) to L15 ( £59,581 )

St Gregory’s Primary, Margate is a Catholic primary academy and part of the Kent Catholic Schools’ Partnership (KCSP), a multi-academy trust (MAT) established by the Archdiocese of Southwark for Catholic education across Kent. Currently a MAT comprising 24 academies (19 primary and 5 secondary), KCSP is seeking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated Academy Principal for St Gregory’s from September 2022 due to the retirement of the current post-holder. 

St Gregory’s is a one and a half form entry primary academy located in Margate and serving the Parish of Ss Austin & Gregory with St Anne, Margate and the local area.

St Gregory’s is an inclusive academy. Its dedicated staff, helpers and governance committee members work hard to ensure that every student is supported and challenged to be their very best. Each individual is encouraged to grow spiritually and intellectually, so that unique and positive contributions can be made to society and the world. The academy’s most recent denominational inspection in April 2016 judged it to be ‘Good’ and its most recent Ofsted inspection in September 2019 also judged the academy to be ‘Good’ in all areas. St Gregory’s is seeking a new Academy Principal who will build upon and further develop the excellent work that is already taking place at the academy.

Reporting to the Executive Principal, the Academy Principal will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the academy and will lead a team that strive together for children under the academy’s motto of “ For every future, for every child”.

The successful applicant will take the lead role in providing inspirational Catholic education based on our shared Gospel values, and will be seen by pupils, parents and carers, and the wider parish as the person directing their learning, and as the academy’s pastoral leader.  We are therefore seeking to appoint a practising Catholic to this role.
