Colleague at Ursuline College set to complete ultra marathon for charity
Billy Cochrane, a PE teacher from Ursuline College will be completing a 215 mile ultramarathon in August! Billy will run from Portpatrick on the west coast of Scotland, along the Southern Upland Way to Cockburnspath on the east coast of Scotland. The Race Across Scotland is a single-stage event with a 100-hour completion time. Billy has taken part in the race twice before, the first time was an 85 mile DNF, after some inspiration from Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow; last year’s race saw Billy complete the route in 85 hours in aid of the MNDA. Billy is returning this year with an aim to complete the distance in 70 hours all in the name of Prostate Cancer UK after his Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer prior to last year’s race.
The students and staff at Ursuline College have supported Billy with his fundraising through a non-uniform day and cake sale. If anyone would like to donate, please follow the link to Billy’s JustGiving page here.
For those of you interested to know more about the race itself, here is a link to last year’s video highlights where you can hear from Billy himself after 12 minutes, 22 seconds.
Billy, himself, would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone at Ursuline College for their continued support in his fundraising endeavours, it truly means more than you can comprehend.
