Celebrating Our Young Poets
We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Anaiya (a pupil at St Joseph’s Primary in Northfleet) and Chloe (a student at St Edmund's Secondary, Dover), who have both been shortlisted from over 1,000 entries in the South East Young Poet Laureate competition.
As part of this prestigious programme, both students were invited to attend a poetry masterclass at Faber & Faber in London, where they worked with established poets to develop their writing and performance skills. They also had the opportunity to perform their work and will be featured in a regional poetry anthology, celebrating emerging young voices across the South East.
The 12 Young Poet Laureates for the country will be announced in June, and we are wishing Anaiya and Chloe all the very best!
These are exceptional achievements, and we are incredibly proud of both pupils. Their success reflects the creativity, confidence and love of language we are proud to nurture across our Trust.
