St Mary's Whitstable receives OPAL Play Gold Award

We are absolutely delighted to announce that St Mary's Primary in Whitstable has been awarded the Opal Play Gold Award – a fantastic achievement that reflects two years of dedication and hard work from the entire St Mary's school community!

Since starting its Opal Play journey in 2024, St Mary's has transformed its playtimes into rich, creative and adventurous learning experiences for all pupils. This wouldn't have been possible without the incredible support of staff, parents and carers, and pupils, who have joined together on volunteering days and helped the school to raise funds for exciting additions like its monkey bars and scooter boards!

Our biggest thank you goes to Mrs Thorogood, St Mary's wonderful EYFS Lead, who has led the Opal project with real passion and commitment. Mrs Thorogood has given up so much of her own time to transform our playtimes, and we are incredibly grateful for her vision and hard work in making this happen! Well done, St Mary's!
