Stella Maris Catholic Primary School is delighted to have been named a Finalist in the School Garden of the Year category at the Kent Life Garden Awards 2026.

The award recognises the hard work, creativity and commitment that pupils and staff have invested in developing the school's garden and outdoor learning spaces. The garden has become a valued part of school life, providing opportunities for pupils to learn about nature, sustainability and growing their own produce.

Representing the school at the awards event were Year 6 pupil, Scout, Teacher Mrs Felicetti, and Mrs Green, Teaching Assistant, the Leaders of the school's Gardening Club. The school was presented with a finalist certificate in recognition of its achievement.

As part of the celebrations, the team took part in an official photoshoot alongside other finalists and winners from across the county. Their photographs and the story of the school's gardening success will feature in the November edition of Kent Life magazine.

This recognition is a wonderful achievement for Stella Maris and reflects the dedication of pupils, staff and volunteers who have helped create a thriving garden that enriches learning and fosters a love of the natural environment.
