Crowning of Mary: Month of May

What a wonderful way for St Joseph's Primary in Broadstairs to celebrate the month of May, by coming together as a school for a Crowning of Mary Service.

Children were invited to bring a flower to school so they could decorate the school's prayer corners. Flowers were brought in abundance and proudly presented to Our Lady during the service. The children were also able to bring along their own Rosaries for the celebration. The service began with the hymn ‘Bring flowers of the rarest’ and Mrs. Reid then led the children in prayer before Oscar and Keana were invited to crown Our Lady with a beautiful crown of fresh flowers.

Representatives from each class presented their flowers to Our Lady Mary during the singing of ‘As I kneel before you’ and Year 5 were then invited to lead ‘The Decade of The Rosary’. Mrs. Reid closed the service and pupils sang the final hymn ‘Beautiful World’.

Mary, the mother of Jesus, and our spiritual mother, is present in our lives to love us, to watch over us and to bring our prayers to Jesus.
