History Day at St Joseph's Primary, Broadstairs
The focus of History Day at St Joseph's Primary in Broadstairs this year was ‘Inspirational people’. Classes looked at people such as Mary Anning, Roy Hackett, and Mary Seacole to discover the contributions they made to society and the discrimination they faced in doing so.
The children were encouraged to dress as someone that has inspired them and the characters they chose ranged from their parents and grandparents, to characters from history, including Julius Ceasar, Jean d’Arc, Cleopatra, and the Sufragettes. Mrs. Osborne, the school's History Lead, was delighted with the children’s enthusiasm commenting that “a great fun day was had by all whilst learning about many historical figures and their achievements”.
