Olivia's Scout Stilt Walk at St Edmund's Secondary in Dover
Our Year 7 student, Olivia, at St Edmund's Secondary in Dover is raising money for roof repairs to her local Scout Hut:
Hi I'm Olivia, I have been part of the Scouting movement since I was 6 years old. Firstly as a Beaver then as a Cub starting in Folkestone. When I moved to Dover 2 years ago I joined 10th Dover Scout Group where I am now Senior Scout. It's been a big part of my life and I have made lots of new friends in the process.
The hall is used not only by the Scouts, but for many years has served community events too. The hall roof is in need of a little TLC..
So, this is the reason I am going to be walking the 1000 meter round trip along the new Dover pier on a pair of traditional stilts which were made by my Grandad. The reason for the stilts is because it was whilst I was at a Scout event I discovered I could walk on them and enjoyed it!
I will be doing the stilt walk on Monday 29th July 2024 at 18:30hrs (weather permitting). Feel free to come and support me on the evening. Any donations small or large would be gratefully received, so the fund for the Scout hall roof maintenance can grow.
Please do support, donate (if you can) and share and help Olivia get closer to helping others! Olivia's GoFundMe page can be found here.
