  • St Peter's Primary, Sittingbourne have a perfect end to term 3!

    A huge well done to the pupils of St Peter's Primary in Sittingbourne; not only were they victorious in their final match of the term against Milton Court Primary School on 10th February 2020, with an incredible score of 11-0, but they also managed to raise £300.00 for the NSPCC's 'Number Day'!
  • St Mary's Primary, Deal host 'Big Breakfast' in aid of CAFOD

    On Thursday, 6th February, St Mary's Primary, Deal hosted a ‘Big Breakfast’ in aid of CAFOD and raised nearly £200!  The event was supported wonderfully by staff, parents, grandparents and pupils who all came to school for 8am and enjoyed a special breakfast before starting the day!

     

    The academy's very kind cook, Jackie, came in extra early to get the sausages ready!

  • St Gregory's primary, Margate pupils' turn detective for 'sugar snatcher' case

    Pupils at St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School in Margate have turned detective for a CSI challenge aimed at using eight essential skills.

    The youngsters worked in teams to solve the mystery of who stole the chocolate. They needed to solve the case of the Sugar Snatcher by applying creativity to examine key pieces of evidence.

     

    Pupils undertook problem solving by analysing sound clips taken from the crime scene and applied staying positive skills by analysing fingerprints. The budding police detectives also used teamwork skills to gather evidence at the crime scene, before applying leadership skills to build a convincing case for who they thought the culprit was.

     

    The enterprising police recruits used presenting and listening as they reported their findings to the wider group. The students then demonstrated aiming high skills by reflecting on the essential abilities they had used throughout the day.

     

    Academy Principal Diane Rougvie-Fevrier said: “St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School joined the Skills Builder Partnership in 2019 with a long-term vision of how to develop essential skills in their learners. This builds on their curriculum which provides opportunities

    to work creatively and collaboratively in a variety of settings, in addition to developing and applying eight skills in classroom-based Projects and Challenge Days.”
