  • Our inspiring sportswomen

    Thu 27 Oct 2022

We are so proud of former pupils Alessia Russo and Rosie Galligan who really are leading the way in inspiring the next generation of sportswomen!

Alessia Russo is now a household name after playing a key role in England's historic win at this year's UEFA Women's Championship. Alessia is a former pupil of St Simon Stock Secondary in Maidstone and still takes time out of her busy schedule to visit the school (pictured below with St Simon Stock's Academy Principal, Jon Malone).

Rosie Galligan is a former pupil of More Park Primary, West Malling and is currently representing England in the Women's Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. On Saturday 22 October, Rosie played her first game in the tournament scoring three tries which led to a win of 75-0 to England against South Africa, and Rosie won player of the match too!

Well done to both Alessia and Rosie, we are so proud of you both!

  • Harvest Festival 2022

    Thu 13 Oct 2022

Our schools have been celebrating the end of summer with their annual Harvest Festivals this month, pupils mark the end of the growing season and give thanks for a bountiful summer.

St Joseph's Primary in Broadstairs, have shared some wonderful photos of their recent Harvest Festival (below), at which pupils also took time to remember those members of the local community who need support and brought in contributions of food which will be sent to the school's local food bank at St. Austin and St. Gregory in Margate.

As well as celebrating, the school also reflected on the links they have with their own Parish Church, Our Lady Star of the Sea, by hosting a harvest tea for the elderly of the parish (also pictured below).  An afternoon tea of sandwiches, scones and cakes was provided for around 25 parishioners and older members of the community, all served by St Joseph's Year 6 pupils.  Entertainment was then provided by each year group who had prepared special songs for the occasion.

Harvest Festival is always an opportune time within our family of schools to reflect on what we have, and the need for generosity and compassion for everyone in our communities.
