    Fri 28 Apr 2023

St Edmund's Vice Principal, Miss Aslett, is taking on the Women V Cancer Ride the Night challenge on Saturday 29 April, and is aiming to ride between 50km and 100km to raise funds for three charities: Breast Cancer Now, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.

Miss Aslett didn't even own a bike this time last year, so she's been on quite a journey training for the event. You can find out more and donate here.

  • Sports stars at St Edmund's Secondary, Dover

    Tue 25 Apr 2023

We are so incredibly proud of all of our pupils and everything that they achieve during their time in our schools and in all that they go on to do.

This week, the team at St Edmund's wanted to give a special shout-out to two pupils and their recent fantastic sporting achievements:

National Gymnast Achievement: Poppy W in Year 7

Poppy has been very busy the past few months - in February, Poppy was awarded 'Squad Gymnast of the Month’; in March she was awarded 'Assistant Coach of the Month’; and in April she competed in her first Nationals in Cardiff!

    Congratulations and well done, Poppy!

“To be a champion, you must train like a champion. there are no limits on your dreams if you’re willing to work for it". We support you all the way with your future goals and dreams Poppy, we are truly proud of you!

    Cheerleading Achievement - GO KIENNA!!

Year 9 Pupil, Kienna B, is heading to the All Star World Cheerleading Competition in Florida next week (29th April).

Kienna's talent was first picked up at St Richard’s Primary School where she won the KCSP Cup for Sporting Endeavour. Sadly, not long after this win, her local cheer programme was closed down. However, her talent was recognised and she was offered a place with Gravesend based club-Ice Athletics Cheer. Kienna has come such a long way and she is so dedicated to her sport. Kienna currently attends 3 times a week, enduring 103 mile around trip each time. Kienna and her team are the Junior International Team of ICE Athletics Cheer in the International under 17’s division. As they head into this competition, they are the only UK team in that division. This is a wonderful opportunity to not only travel and compete but to train and watch some of the most amazing teams from around the world. The Trust and all at St Edmund’s Catholic School are incredibly proud of Kienna, we will be “cheering” from afar and we are wishing Kienna and the team good luck and glory in Florida!
